Default Progress and lack thereof

I have been MIA what have I missed?

Dad 89 after close to two years of failing health gave up the ghost on Sept 4th, he said he was tired and done, it been very hard for me, thought I would stop by here.

In the effort to keep going I got the vette to a shop doing the frame off,
Its a 69 but the new chassis is a 68 and while it has powder coating ( overrated ) and all the vette brakes suspension, ( I hope it doesn't ride like a pulp wood truck, ) ,
Zip vette sent me out a couple gussets that were welded in place.
I learned that in GM's wisdom they used solid body mounts in 69...I have urethane replacements to help some.

I pretty much had gathered all the parts I needed, got the mako tilt front to run while I hunt the old Ecklers style tilt front, better yet a 68-72 front,
I Have my flares and 68 firebird tail lights, still need a 67 bb hoodscoop, I want a real one not aftermarket...tough find,

I have a sweet Dewitts aluminum radiator that Tom set me up with and need to get the flex a lite 410 dual fans,
I also want to toss the stamped chrome steel valve covers for some big old bulky M/T aluminum ones,

My taste changed and I want to run either slotted wheels or thrust d's but old ones, 15x10 for rears and 15x8 up front another hard find, I have a nice set of finned turbine wheels if someone wants to do some swapping, those wheels are 15x9 and 15x7 or 8...I have to double check but they were not 10"...more a stock size.

Guess I babbled enough for now,
Cheers.

Glad you could stop in and share what's going on. I'm sorry about your Dad too. I hope you and him had a good relationship during those years. As far as your project, it always seems to be some kind of tough baloney to deal with, but with what you're dealing with, I imagine that it becomes a lightweight issue.

I'm sorry about your Dad Bats.........times like this make me glad there is a Heaven to take care of those we love.

Take your time on the project........I 've been shut down on my project for the last 3 months because of PTSD from Nam and the loss of my son Blake.

Pace yourself........you've got my prayers!

Thanks all for the kind words,
It started going badly about 18 months ago about a week after this pic he had to get a triple bypass, a valve and never was the same,

We would talk almost every day on the phone for hours he was a Navy aircraft tech then a machinist so it was always fun tech stuff.
please do not think I want some pity party, he was worn on and very tired, ready to shuffle off this mortal coil, he is in a better place...
I just wanted to get back into the world and figured lots of you guys would relate....

On car stuff I really am excited about the 69 frame swap when I get it back and get it running it will be like a new 1969 car, perhaps a little better with a few upgrades like the suspension and tires,

Do any of you have that transverse front spring from vette brakes on your car, I'm concerned it's going to make it ride really harsh.
