Default Got Stoned!!!

Just imagine out cruzing on Saturday afternoon in Northern Wisconsin in late September,Temps are in the high seventies knowing this probably is the last perfect weekend to enjoy cruzing in my 73 convertable. My wife and i are shooting the breeze about the fall colors when BAAM a stone slams into my original date coded windshield leaving a non repairable crack. Talk about wrecking a Great day! Have not talked to my insurance yet, Just looking for any advise on where to purchase a good fitting date coded windshield? Would a GM dealer be the best place to have it installed? Your Thoughts.

My thoughts are why let that ruin your day, date coded?!?!? yeah I know important to ncrs and all that stock numbers matching tripe but really you were having a wonderful time, it's a car, get a new windscreen but don't let it ruin things......

I think the last place I would have it installed is GM how many classic vettes do they really see?
Look for a good vette shop that people into vettes can give a thumbs up on....

Go over to the tech forum, there has been an ongoing discussion on windshields. It may give you a little insight into who and how you shop for a windshield and an installer.

FWIW: after you obtain a reproduction windshield with a correct date, have the pros install it.
