Dash lights dim

Im grateful to have dash lights now, just that they appear very dim, maybe it's because newer cars are brighter? I did put a new headlight switch in, could it be the bulbs?

You may have to define "dim." Keep in mind newer cars are likely to be LED while C3s remain incandescent.

They were dim when new too. My dad said that of our c3 when I commented on the light and he had since the 80s and I guess for the time being they were good

I put LED lights in mine. One of the best mods I did. And, I drilled out the downfire lighting holes by about 20% so that I can now actually see the a/c controls. Use warm white. The dimmer function on the switch changes because LEDs don't dim as much. They're either on or off but guess what, you can see what the gauges are doing at a glance, for a nice change.
