You should check Craigslist could be someone parting one out. I know a couple years back I saw a c3 at my local junkyard but being a noon I didn't even bother looking at it and later when I got to fixing my car I realized I messed up big time.

I have some minor rust on the bottom of mine also. Been thinking of taking it to a shop that does welding, like maybe a small muffler/repair place. Mine only needs some flat stock replaced. That would be a lot less $$ than an entire new assembly.

I got very lucky down here many years ago and bought a new one that was about 1/2 the weight of the old OEM piece, I drilled drain holes in the bottom of it so the water can run out, and then emptied two cans of black spray paint down the top openings, letting it drain out the bottom holes I drilled, some 15 year later, still no signs of rust.....

actually, up north that cross support that unbolts from the frame rails was replaced with a good one from Carlisle......that boomerang looking thing must have suffered greatly with a leaky radiator, the metal was so thin I could see through it.....bur strangely the frame itself is fine....go figger.....
