Does anyone have pictures of the connection between the wire male end connector and the dome light switch on the door on a 69 Corvette. I took it apart too quick and didn't study it enough. I'm trying to replace the switch which seems to have a short in it.
Hi p,
Do these help?
The barbed spades are crimped onto the wire leads and then inserted in the white nylon barrel's 2 slots.
If you look closely at the first picture you can see one of the connections being made in the semi-transparent barrel.

Alan
Great...... much appreciated! it's hard to see from the picture, but is the male lead end bent outward from center once the male connector is inserted into the white nylon barrel? Is the piece that is bent on the end of the male connector extend outside of the nylon barrel diameter?
It seems to me that the end of the male connector that is bent outward should be flush with the OD of the nylon barrell? correct?
Hi p,
The spades stay straight.
The tiny barbs on the spade prevent it from being easily pulled out of the barrel.
It all needs to be no wider than the threaded base of the switch so it can be inserted through the threaded fitting mounted in the jamb.

Alan
