It's funny because I have also seen both. And they both looked basically the same to me and the guy who paid for the Dewitts.
there is nothing alike between the two the champion is squared off with thick welds all around it the fins are totally different the only thing may be the same is the water neck because the dewitts from top to bottom shows better quality oem factory fit.
In my hast in posting and lack of fast, adequate typing skills I posted a typo which while I fixed it in my original post I can't fix it where I was quoted.
It made it sound like I was stating that I paid 200.00 for my custom Dewitts radiator,
We all know good and well that both Champion and Dewitts radiators sell for more than 200.00.
As far as the total I paid for my Dewitts radiator that is between me and Tom, But I am sure he would take care of you too,
I frankly find these threads about the import radiators a bit beaten to death, if you want to risk it go with the cheapo if you want piece of mind and a better unit go with Dewitts.
So unless I am directly address I will weenie on out of these radiator threads...thanks for your time...
Perhaps this conversation is like 14 year old kids arguing in a school yard.
I have had good luck with Champion and other radiators that are cheaper than a Dewitts. I have nothing against a Dewitt radiator but if I don't have to spend that much on something when something else will work I will save my money. I have a Champion radiator in my 80 that has a 383 in it and stays at 180 all day regardless of the temperature outside. I also had a 540 in a 77 vette that had a radiator that wasn't a Dewitt and that stayed cool for the 4 years I drove the car. It's you money spend it as you seem fit.

On your part about kids in a playground I fully agree with you.
Since I find the Dewitts a far better looking and way better built American made radiator with customer support second to none and well worth the $$$ and you want to go budget.
Paul, I would recommend a larger aluminum radiator than the 18" (that's what it looks like in the car) stock 68-72 base one that you had. I just put the 69-72 26.5" manual Dewitt's aluminum one in mine, with the black ice paint. Lou.

He could do that, but he would have to change the core support and the fan shroud. That could get expensive.
