Default Budget fuel injection?

I would love a tri power on my 454 just because but since I can't find it in aftermarket I can't afford it,

So how about budget fuel injection...since I dig old school I haven't kept up on what's out there, anything affordable?

Thanks...

I heard of people using the late 80's early 90's tbi fuel injection on old carb car's I have never done it but read up a lot on it but it is a little too much for my skill set. The ones I looked at were talking about junk yard systems with 02 sensors and computer but when I found out it was gonna be a mission to get it carb approved here in cali I gave up on that.

You could try the fuel injection that came on the 454s in the 90s trucks. Parts should be a dime a dozen, and easy to find. There's also a fair aftermarket following for them.

Hm. I never really thought about that before for my possible C3 build... definitely lower rise than the ramjet...

Not that I'm apposed to a factory FI I assume it's TPI style had that on my 86 in sb form and some aspects of it were a bit cumbersome,

I was thinking aftermarket like that Fast one might be more simple, but then perhaps I just need a good carb ( cheaper )... perplexed.

Fun story, back with the 383 with unknown holley this fellow tells me he is a holley guru, since it wasn't tuned right anyway I let him at it as his car while way overbuilt for a street engine ran well,
He tweaks on it burns his leg on the side pipe and says , there it's top shelf,
That night out cruising it started to stumble told tina my wife lets head home, it car is limping and stalls, I pull over pissy, the hood isn't latched I lift it open and the fire blazes out of the carb....wife tosses fire extinguisher at me and I put it out have car towed home, so now I have this stigma about holley.

Here you go-

$1100....plus EFI fuel pump-regulator -mod tank & lines for EFI. Get a stand alone controller -various sensors and you are there!!

Might have to punch a hole in the hood....

Second that motion. The best part is that you have a big part to play in the success of the mod, unlike throwing a lot of dough at something ready to go. Plus, the satisfaction of doing it yourself. I like cruising the junk yards! Find a fresh looking carcass, I mean truck, examine the TBI and see if it looks like a runner, then pull the manifold, TBI and linkages. Ditto for the MAF and then weld up an O2 sensor bung on your exhaust. If it needs the coolant and air temp, take that into consideration too.

It's intake is more like what you find on the LS series of engines than the L98. I know how much of a PITA the L98's intake can be to work around, anytime I've had to do vacuum line work that goes under the throttlebody or upper plenum.... SO hard to do without pulling the upper plenum off!
