Hi, I'm new to the Forum. I've been looking for a C-3 for a long time. Finally this past weekend I found the car I have been looking for. 76 Stingray coupe, L-48, 4 speed, Dark blue, smoke gray interior, 43000 actual miles. The car seems to be all original with the exception of a possible repaint at some point. The interior is spotless, everything works with the exception of the clock and odometer reset. The jack is still in the glove box and appears to never have been out, white grease still on the threads. Original spare tire underneath, and it looks like the lock has never been removed, the rubber cover is still in place. The interior is unique in the fact that it has white seats and door panels. When I first looked at the car, I assumed that someone had replaced them at some point, but after doing some searching on the net, I discovered that you could special order the smoke gray with white seats and panels. Does anyone know this to be correct? After going over this car fairly closely I am thinking that maybe I have rare find. I have a lot more questions but will stop here for now.
Congrats and welcome. Sounds like a great find and a four speed to boot! Post some pics, when you have a chance. If you don't have it yet, get the 1974 FSM or Factory Service Manual and the supplement for 1976. If the car has power Windows and they haven't been serviced since then, I highly recommend taking the door panels off and clean and relubricate with white grease, all the rollers and tracks, as well as the door handle and lock mechanisms. When that grease turns 40, it's usually more like rock hard clay, than grease. It will save you a lot of trouble, later on, as that's the leading cause of power window motor failure, is it having to work too hard.
Congratulations. Nice car. For 76 and 77 there was a buyer's choice of white leather seats and door panels combined with specific interior and exterior colors.

Hi b,
It looks like a VERY nice find!
Quite a pretty combination of colors!
Good luck with it, and I hope it gives you a lot of pleasure.
Regards,
Alan
I'm usually not a big fan of white interiors, but yours I like. Nice car.
I had a 78 Monte Carlo once with an all white interior, and really didn't think I would do that again, but the smoke gray in this one really sets it off.
Thanks

As luck would have it, those manuals came with the car. I'm thinking that a previous owner was very picky about this car.

Yep, winter used to be my favorite time of year, had plenty of time to play with/work on the toys
