Default 77 Vette

I just bought my first Corvette. Orange w/Black deluxe interior. It is a very solid and drivable car. But, I have my plans as I'm retired and needed something to ticker with. I have built a lot of cars back in the day, but mainly outside of the car (eng, trans, brakes and exhaust etc.). Inside the car just a stereo and speakers. Getting wordy, sorry!
My question is the door panels are the deluxe model and down on the lower right, the panel sticks out about 1 inch, maybe 2. I push it in and the panel goes right back to were it was. How do I get the panels off? I is like it is warped from heat. The was originally from Oklahoma, the original owner had it for 33 year. He then sold it to a man here in Pensacola that drove it for 6 months, then waxed it and covered it with a vette cover and put it with his other collection for 3 1/2 years. Then I bought it.
But I want to redo the whole interior with all new everything, even down to every screw.

Again how do I get the door panels off?

Sorry for being so wordy.

The door panel is held to the door in a number of ways:
1) It is hung from the top of the door.
2) It is retained by 3 screws - one through the panel in the upper corner near the windshield and two through brackets extending to the forward and rear faces of the door, near the lower corners.
3) By two screws through the top and bottom of the door pull.
4) By the lock twist ****. This is held on a splined shaft by a wire hairpin clip. There are tools to remove this, but I've always been successful with a smaller screw driver.
5) By the door handle. This can be detached by removing the forward facing screw.
6 Lastly, there are a series of 5 'velcro' patches on the door and the door panel that (are supposed to) interlock. Be careful with these if you wish to preserve your existing door panels. These panels were originally made of pressed paper/cardboard and the Velcro strips will pull out of the door panel before they will separate from their mate on the door. Use a prybar on each of the five.

REPLACEMENTS
There seem to be two main manufactures - Al Knock and Corvette America. Most of the interior panels/dashes/upholstery advertised are made by one or the other and resold. Each have their supporters. Do a search.

You have to remove the door lock first, as it has a clip that's behind it, holding it in. If you push on the panel, you can ease the clip out with a pick. Then the screws on the backside of the door, front at the top and bottom corners and then you maneuver it out, from the door handle itself.

Default Thank you

Thanks everyone for taking the time to explain in detail how to solve my problem. I love this gem and want to restore it the right way and not get anxious and start ripping things a part. I have ordered a Service/Shop CD and an Assembly CD. I hope that will make it easy and a lot less stressful.
