Default C3 Dam Buster

So I did a trip of about 200 miles in the C3 to and around the Ladybower Reservoir which is where the Dam Busters practiced with bouncing bombs during WW2. The plan was to destroy German dams.

For my first ‘proper’ trip since buying the car it performed perfectly and garnered a lot of attention although a fuel smell had me worried I think it’s just what’s coming out of the straight through exhaust ??

Hi BV,
Very nice looking car and scenery!!!
Wasn't the plan to learn how to 'bounce' the bombs along the water's surface and into the dam?
Sort of like 'skipping' rocks.
Regards,
Alan

My ex is from Bad Wildungen Germany, very near one of the dams breached by the dambusters, the Eder dam.

You can still see where the bomb hit. The spillways weren't replaced in the damaged section when it was repaired.
My ex BIL's grandfather was an AA gunner at the dam. He wasn't on duty that night...

Probably a good night to be off duty.

Talking of not repairing the bomb damage, I've recently noticed a building in London that has ornate stonework blasted by shrapnel that has been left as a reminder. Huge great lumps of stone blasted away from ground level to as high as 6 mtrs
