Default best degreaser?

Getting ready to use some POR 15 on the frame rails/rocker channels. I didn't buy the Marine Clean but I did buy the POR Metal Etch. The parts guy told me that any good degreaser would work prior to using the metal etch. I bought some Zep industrial strength degreaser at the Home Depot. Doesn't seem to be strong enough. I used it at the recommended strength and rinsed it as instructed but there was still lots of grease left over. I re-sprayed it with a stronger solution and rinsed again. Still not to my liking. Any recommendations?

I like purple power cleaner with good results...

I used por on the floors of a kit car once and didnt think much of it, always heard good about eastwood and their stuff but I have read on this forum that por isnt what it is said to be, something about a chip/scratch in it and rust will forum under it, I really do not know what the real deal on it is but that all made me god ...Hum.

Thanks I'll look at those brands. Don't know if the POR is good or not. This is my first use of it. From what I've read it is good stuff but you have to clean the metal really well and use the acid etch before applying the paint or it will not last.

Marine Clean works really well if the instructions are followed.

FWIW, I've had good results using Simple Green.

I tried the Purple Power. Worked better than the Zep product. rinsed it off and dired it with compressed air. I let it dry out good overnight and sprayed the frame with the POR rust treatment/acid etch. Seems like a very good product. The frame came out shiny like new metal in a lot of areas. I rinsed it off good and dried it. Tomorrow I will apply the POR 15 and see how it comes out.

For oily/greasy parts, I swear by Power Purple.

I like to buy plastic containers, pour Power Purple in, let parts sit and they come out very clean!

Could be just me, but I need to use rubber gloves. Tends to burn my skin.
