Default 70-72 C3 A Pillar Trim

I know there is not anyone making these aftermarket, nor the side grills for the 70-72 C3s. Do you think there is a market for these parts being available? The company that I work for can make both of these parts fairly cheap (stainless for the A Pillar, aluminum for the side louvers) and wondering if we should produce these and market them? What do you all think the fair market value is for stainless A Pillars as well as the side louvers for 70-72 corvettes?

I knew a fellow making 68-69 vents that fit in the 70-72 fenders very popular but some people do not like any mods they want bone stock and for them You know any part that people like zip and ecklers is not selling as in no longer can get would be very popular if you price it fair, I see too many times people try to make all their money back on one sale,

Hi frb,
My thoughts on the a-pillar trim.
Although there is not a reproduction available, the originals are readily available from cars that have met their demise.
These parts can be bought and then restored at home or sent to a buffer for not an exorbitant amount of money.
Many folk's originals are in good enough condition that they don't need to buy a used part but just polish what they have.
So your part would have to priced below that threshold to attract sales.
Plus, for at least some of the people that would be in the market for new, the part would have to be "undetectable" from the original for them to buy it.
It's one thing for a part to be a 'functional replacement', it's quite another to be a faithful reproduction.
So?
Regards,
Alan

Alan, thanks. Mine have some dents in them, have not been able to find anyone near me to repair them, nor find any that have been restored. I can have a set made, I don't care about it being aftermarket, just want it to look like new. If anyone knows where to find a like new reconditioned set of pillar trim, I am all ears.

Hi fr,
Most shops that do chrome plating also repair and polish stainless steel parts. It takes some of the same procedures and skills.
The a-pillar trim is small enough so that it can easily be shipped both ways.
Start a thread about chrome platers and I believe you'll get lots of suggestions.
I'll start with Librandi, near harrisburg Pa.
Good Luck!
Regards,
Alan
