Are you asking how to get the wiper arms off the "towers"?
They make a tool for that, although some are able to use a small screwdriver to release the spring clip that holds the arm onto that tower.

Hi Peter,
I don't think there's anyway to take the transmission apart.
I believe it uses a permanently lubricated bronze bushing that's pressed into place for all eternity.

Hi Peter,
I'm not so sure about the dichromate wash on the body of the transmissions but I though I saw hints of it when I took the car apart.
I think just cast blast or even semi-flat black would look just fine.
