Default Another TT2 Question

Tried looking at previous posts, but did not find the answer to my questions, so here goes.

1. Anyone running 17X8 on the front and 17x10 on the rears? My tire
guy recommended running staggered wheels to better fill the
wheel wells.

2. Are there any pros or cons with running the one piece TT2's. I
believe the two piece rims are more expensive.

3. Pro's and cons of chrome vs. polished TT2's.

My initial thoughts are one piece (if cheaper) and chrome. Don't want to put in the effort to keep the polished wheels clean and polished. Will decide on staggering once I can get my car to his shop to try on both sizes before deciding.

OK guys, let's hear what you got!

Thanks in advance,
Will

I am running 17x8 fronts with 255 45 17. Rears 18x10 with 275 40 18. The 17x10 tires in the rear were not tall enough to match the front.

The one piece 17 x 8 are 0 offset so you will have 4.5" backspace, which is .5" more than stock and could give you some rubbing issues up front.

I couldn't find a 17 x 10 in the 1-piece, only 9.5" and they all have positive offset, meaning the minimum BS would be ~5.5" (with +8mm OS). That will require an e-brake cable move and possibly the need for a shorter spring. On my car, I maxed out the BS at 5.25. Installed with the car on the ground, I have about .25" of clearance on the frame (27" tall tire) on the left and about 3/8" on the right. A lot of guys are running 5.5" BS but there was no way for that to work on mine. YMMV.

This is what I rigged up to measure (with the suspension supported floor jacks under each trailing arm.

The angle aluminum is mounted on the hub and the ruler is at the closest part of the frame.

You also need to look at the tread width and section width of the tire you are planning on using.

You asked so here goes.
I would not go with 1 piece as 2 piece allows for customer backspace.
I would also not go with chrome even though polished is more upkeep.
Also if you want to go with 9.5" or 10" in the rear I would go with 18s and it clears the trailing arm if you go with 5.5" backspace.
Your car your choise. Just throwing out another opinion.
