Yea they are cool and it was nice of previous owner to let me keep them...but I live in Illinois so they are going on the mancave wall. Gonna get me some nerdy Corvette custom plates though don't worry.

Yes it will be very difficult but I don't think it will be worth the insurance or the risk in the midwest.

And yea I saw that in geology in college and have been using it for screen names ever since! I get yelled at a lot in online multiplayer by people trying to make fun of me who obviously have no idea what it means...

I'm not in a hurry I'll take my time to find the right one and have the money ready .
My advice to you try to be the most original you can , a 74 still is a good year to collect

I like YOM. I always had custom tags on mine til I changed to antique registration. No custom tags, but I can use YOM. They were different than the norm here in Texas that year because the Hemisfair was here.

Not really able to see the tags. Here's a sample...

Have you ordered a new control yet?

The guy had most of the parts for the system as it was a planned project but I haven't had a chance to inventory everything yet...

Here's what I did when I got my '74; get a clip board and a fresh pad of paper. Devote the first three pages to a "To Do" list and then the next three to a "To Get" list. Afterwards start looking at the various vendors and see if they offer a discount for restorers or frequent buyers. Finally, order the AIM or Assembly Manual, either on paper or CD and the Factory Service Manual or FSM. These two manuals are nearly mandatory for owning one of,these cars.

PS: if the power Windows work, don't wait too long to get in there and service them with fresh grease, after removing the old hardened stuff. That is a major cause of power window motor failure and track wear and it's a job that you don't want to skip on, because replacing the motor and tracks in these cars is a real PITA!

Thanks, the pad of paper thing is pretty much exactly what I was planning on doing. And guess what else it came with besides parts? Repair manual! Also, the windows do work but driver side won't start to go down until the door is opened and passenger is slow so that's good advice.
