Default Rear view mirror with map light

I have a 75 Vert and am needing to replace my rear view mirror with a map light. WHERE CAN I GET ONE? Every Corvette after market company (Ecklers, ZIP, Wilcox, etc) only sells the mirror WITH OUT the map light. HELP!

Paragon sells one: it's about $250 last time I checked. Part No: 5992

Alternatively they sometimes pop up on the popular auction site. I managed to snag one there for about $115.

If your original just needs new glass, it's not hard to change it.

That's what I would do.... Repair the one I already had, or buy at a salvage yard from another GM car.

Longest thread ever

How is the wiring run? My '72 has a mirror with light but I didn't find any wiring run to it.

Should have said this earlier. I bought a new mirror because one of the previous owners got rid of it: when I bought the car it was just a plain 2-position mirror with no light, but the wiring was still in place. If your mirror is rebuildable it's probably cheaper that way.

If the wiring is the same as my '76, it runs from the ignition accessory slot on the fuse box (black connector, grey 20ga wire) up the drivers A-pillar and across the windshield header to the light. It should plug in to a little hole on the top of the mirror housing with a bullet connector.

Your 1972 AIM has a wiring diagram for a map light mirror? I was thinking that the map light mirror became available in 1973.
