Any ideas what that hump is to the left of the scoop?

Agreed, that '68 Mark II looks great! For a street car, I prefer the subtle (no striped) look.

It's a tach...some others cars Pontiac had them factory...Whitney sold aftermarket ones for years....

That's what I figured, but it doesn't seem like a worthwhile mod on a vette since so much dash space is dedicated to a tach...? I was hoping for a monster Z-bar extension to handle all that extra oomph!

I used to think these were used on cars that didn't have tachs in the dash but that's not the case, but it might have been to run an electric tach in the era of cars with dizzy drive tachs

That's a great point I never thought of. In fact, Joel may have made mods to certain engines that used a totally different distributor therefore requiring a new tach.

Every Corvette I saw in the magazines, with a Motion hood, had the scoop opened up. I can post a few pictures from Cars tonight or tomorrow, if you'd like.
That would be GREAT! Happy Thanksgiving!

Very cool! Now thinking of a new CD box and leather wrapped steering wheel for under $100! The marketing blurp is pretty cool too...I think you'd be sued these days for such claims...?
