Motion Hood Question

My question is regarding the commonly seen Motion hood for the C3. Is the air intake actually cut out or not? Any help is appreciated.
Of all the cars I've ever seen that were being promoted as genuine Motion cars, the scoops have either been open or the angle didn't allow definitive proof. The only ones I've ever seen that were not open are the hoods that were available in the aftermarket. Wish I could be more help...

You know I have no idea which are "real" made by Motion ( I didn't see the documentation ) and which are copies...they pop up on CL a fair amount sometimes just called c3 hood or custom c3 hood but over time I have seen them many ways, ranging from nice hand laid glass to gross chopper gun etc...
I have seen ones with The 67 427 front cut open on some and others not cut then under the hood I have seen some that are just raw glass with all the scoop part open and others with slick better made fresh air boxes.
You could always give Mr Rosen a call and ask him........
The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
I hear all that type stuff and I believe it happens but he has always been cool to me,
I called him just the other day with a quick question that he answered for me....

It just means to me what the part itself means to me...but I know some cats do go insane for this stuff...

On a mag cover is pretty much "free" documention in my world...
I fully believe hoods sold by Motion might be cut might be uncut, etc these were customs and things changed car to car build to build....
John, I missed your reply we were typing same time,
I feel like this is thin ice like talking mods to a fellow who worships NCRS since some people look at Motion like a Holy Grail but you ask "should" they be open,
I don't think you will find one cut in stone answer, "IF" you are making a 100% ( or as close as you can ) replica of a certain Motion car then do what they did to it's scoop
If you are doing something of a "John's tribute to Motion cars" then do the scoop the way you desire, I would lean to a nice air box either way,

That is why I dig the cold air boxes under hood scoops they look "cool" to me, nice and finished under there....
This is YOURS build the c3 YOU desire make it YOUR car......

Below are a few links of 'claimed' Motion Corvettes...the last link (the '69) is featured in a magazine I've got (Corvette Fever, I think), and the magazine article definitely shows a cutout scoop...I'd assume a hood offered by the shop as opposed to a completed car might differ...ie, the hood is likely offered as is; straight from the mold...hope these links help.

Every Corvette I saw in the magazines, with a Motion hood, had the scoop opened up. I can post a few pictures from Cars tonight or tomorrow, if you'd like.
