Default Stamp pad question

Hi All

I am considering a 69 427/435 4spd but am questioning the stamp pad and numbers
It reads T 0325 LR
As I understand it, the T is for the assembly plant.
I thought 0325 was the date of manufacture, which makes no sense as this is supposed to be a 69. Where did I go wrong, or are the numbers not correct?
LR is for the 427/435 4spd.
Also, the pad is painted and I can not make out any of the factory etchings from machining.
vin numbers look good, matching numbers car with rebuilt 427 but I am not convinced it has not been messed and not convinced of its originality.
Not wanting to drop a basket of $ on a re-stamp.
Your thoughts?

T= Tonowanda. 0325 is March 25. With the pad being painted you can only assume it's a restamp Unless the seller is willing to remove the paint using NO abrasives. What is the casting date

Take no offence but with little or no knowledge of engine stamp pads, a person is not in a good position to eliminate better quality restamps.

This one gives me the *******.

Stamp looks like it should as far as placement for a BB (stamped high on the pad due to being stamped with the head off) but as was mentioned, no way to give an honest opinion w/o that paint being removed...carefully. It wasn't painted from the factory so any serious seller claiming the drivetrain is original (are they?) shouldn't mind. JUST BE CAREFUL. I think I used lacquer thinner and a Q-Tip on one I was looking at a few years ago, and thank God I did. The marks were "too new". Turns out the seller, who owned it about 8 years, unknowingly bought if off a guy who restamped it. He was upset to say the least.

Sorry to ramble. Get the paint off and take some really good pictures. Good luck.

For the premium that original L-71s can draw, I would strongly consider hiring a professional to view the car.

You are right in that I should have a professional look at the car which I am very likely to do before handing over any money.
I just wanted to do my part before getting to that point.
I will ask the seller to remove the paint from the pad and go from there.
My confusion was in that I was expecting the year of manufacture to be present in the 0325 part, and of course it is not.
Thank you for the help.

Be aware that the original machining marks on the pad surface can easily be destroyed by aggressive cleaning. No sharp instruments, no sandpaper etc.

Do the casting numbers and dates make sense?
