Lucas oil is good oil, I do prefer AMSOIL personally. Make sure you get oil with the zinc additive.

In your 1968 Torino you need a High Zinc Oil does not matter the manufacture of the oil because the old Cams require more zinc to reduce wear.

On your 1976 the only suggestion I have is run a high mileage oil which has elevated zinc in the oils. Todays oils do not have much Zinc in them so in older cars like your 1968 you need this in the oils.

The 1976 can run almost any oil since they have hydraulic lifters but I suggest high mileage oils since they put more zinc in them but the Flat Tappet Cams and solid lifters need the High Zinc Oils.

I like Amsoil. I'm sure there are other good oils out there, but when I was doing my research Amsoil was and is publishing independent lab testing of their oils and comparing it to other oils. Skip the anecdotal recommendations. BTW I do not sell Amsoil.

It makes no difference whether the lifter is solid or hydraulic.
