The main body color is easy, that can be found almost anywhere. It's the secondary metallic brown around the taillights that I can't find the code for. And the wheel detail - mine are simply worn (previous owner lack of care) and the color is almost gone from them. Can't tell if they were painted a semi gloss black, or the same metallic brown as the taillight bezels. Anyone have a guess? Looked and searched everywhere - no dice!
I may have the paint code for the brown trim, at my shop. I use to have it, and it might still be around. If I can find it, I'll post it later.
The code for the brown has been discussed on the Forum before, so a little time spent with the Forum search, may turn it up.
The area between the fins on production wheels, was painted with what is usually described as a medium to dark silver/beige. The center caps were actually painted a slightly darker, more brown color. The space between the fins on GM Service Replacement wheels, is thought to have been painted a much darker color, than the original silver/beige, possibly even black.
I don't have any clue what the codes to the wheel colors could be. Your best bet would be to just try to match what's on your wheels now, or find someone with a known set of original wheels, and match the color found on those wheels.
I'll try a more keyword specific search on the trim brown. I wasn't able to uncover anything just targeting CE's. I've noticed there are some variations with the wheels; mine, as far as I can tell, are original, just faded badly. Photos, especially sellers on eBay that have the wheels, seem to vary from an anthracite grey to brownish. Hmm.. might have to make up my own color and go with it!
Thanks for additional insight.. the fun continues!
I've got a call into my local restoration shop (County Corvette in West Chester, PA, for anyone local). The code wasn't immediately recognizable to the manager, so he wants me to bring the car by so they can visually verify. I will... if it ever stops raining!
