Default 71 convertible rear quarter trim difference?

what is the difference in the rear quarter trim panels between a shoulder harness car and one without? Is it just the square hole for the belt to pass thru? I am adding shoulder belts to my 71 that did not have them and repo trim is $400 a set. That is crazy $200 a piece for a little piece of plastic trim I can cut the holes in my original ones if that is the only difference.

Do you have the assembly instruction manual? If the optional belts required different quarter panels in the convertibles, the AIM will show a different part number for the panels.

yes I have one and they are different part numbers but the only difference I can see is one has the hole for the belt to pass thru and one does not

I'm about 95% sure that they are the same panel, with the just the hole being the only difference. At least from looking at them, they appear to be the same part. The only difference I know of in them for sure, is that 74-75's had a larger hole cut in them, for the belts.

No problem. That was four years ago. I used a better colored vinyl dye since then.
