Default Sidepipes

Going to put header side pipes back on the 75. Have had the car since day one. Had chrome hookers back in the day. How are the OBX or should I stay with Hookers

I have hookers, I have seen just as many people like OBX just as well if not better, when my hookers need replacement I will just buy the cheapest...but that's me, I might ante up for the header part to be coated since last time I looked no one makes them in stainless...yeah, I know not cheap.

Thanks for the info. do I go with mufflers or spiral exhaust. I went thru to sets of side pipes because of the mufflers rusting. I think that why the stainless OBX is the way to go

I have the hooker headers, and I'd have done the OBX but for the extremely low cost of my ceramic coated headers, I went with the hookers.

mufflers are nice, but they kill your hp. If you don't believe or don't care... I have a set for sale I went with glass packs in the pipes - it's loud, but to me it's music.

My old Hookers started to rust the first year, yes it is driver but i would have expected them to last longer even the the city salt.

The hookers where too loud also.

I installed stainless steel Hookers. The headers and side tubes are made of T304 stainless steel and they are built in Aberdeen, MS. For baffles, I went with the Hooker Max Flows.

But back "in the day", no company was making stainless headers. What really "rotted my socks", was that header/side pipe set up cost me about $700, IIRC, which was a LOT of money back then.

I have OBX stainless and they haven't changed color, maybe just a little, but no bluing at all and with the glass pack inserts, they sound great.

Just had an issue with my build partners pipes and aluminum heads.
It was mainly our fault. If you plan on taking them off make sure they are disconnected from the heads completely before anything else.

We pulled the sides off and had the headers hanging from 2-3 threads on the heads. Ended up losing a few threads and having to re-tap.

Good luck. ...many have had good luck. My OBX stainless steel sidepipe headers DO RUST! Customer service from OBX and SSA (the vendor) was not existent. Multiple calls/voice mails/emails even to this day and no response.

I'm not talking about the bronzing or discoloration that occurs because of heat. This is rust showing up.It'll polish up nice but always returns within a few weeks.
