Correct. Rear 2 plugs only. I've seen lots of cars show up with four shields cause 'the vendors sell them'.
I somehow thought the OP was asking about the front two plugs. Sorry.
OK guys. I need your expertise.
I just bought a '74 and don't know a thing about the C3. But I am learning.
Did my '74 come with any spark shielding at all?
I do not have any on my engine. If it does need shielding how much and where should it be located?
Thanks.
If it's a small block and it came factory equipped with a radio, yes it had shielding. Your AIM will show all the components required and how to install them.

Hi MBM,
All sb engines were equipped with heat shielding for the spark plus and spark plug wires; and radio interference shielding only when the car was equipped with a radio, as MW said.
The AIM that's been mentioned was a thick book of engineering drawings that was used for reference on the assembly line in St.Louis. There's one for each year of production.
Copies are available from the larger Corvette parts vendors and are an invaluable source of information on each year Corvette and how they went together.
You should consider buying a copy and also the GM Chassis Service Manual for the 74 year too. It contains lot of information to help you work on your 74.
Good Luck as you get to know your 74.
Regards,
Alan

Thanks guys. I have a "Product Description Manual" that depicts the operations required for final assembly of the vehicle. I think it is the same as the AIM.
