Default Trim Ring Size

Hi,

Getting a 72 Vette and the trim rings on it don't seem as deep as my old ones. Do they come in different depths?

The picture is on a correct 15 x 8 AZ wheel rim, is it the correct Trim Ring size?

Yes. The Corvette trim rings were the deepest, to accommodate the 8" wide wheels (that were installed from '69 on, I believe). The Camaro and Monte Carlo used wheels that were narrower, and used smaller rings.

Thanks Guys

Seems Eckler's suggests 3" deep is the correct size for a 72. I'm assuming the above picture must be 2.5" deep trim ring?

Hi V,
The trim rings for 68+ Corvettes were all the same depth. The ring was closer to the center on a 68, 7" wheel, than on a 69+ 8" wheel.
All 68+ rings were 3" deep.
Regards,
Alan

Also note, unless they are the 4 clip trim rings, they could be almost any depth. The originals had one of the 4 clips located at the stem hole. Over the counter replacements had the clips rotated 45* from the hole.
