Default 1978 Dash Light Fuse

Is the 6 amp fuse for the dash / instrument lights 125V slow or fast burn? Is 6 amp correct? Is the proper dimensions 5 mm x 20 mm?

Sorry that I can't speak to every detail, but according to the 1978 Corvette Electrical Manual that one should be a 6 amp AGC fuse, which is the " fast-acting" type. Hope that helps.

The 78 Owner's Manual calls the instrument panel fuse to be a 5amp. Perhaps 1/4" x 5/8"?

So is this supposed to be a 5 amp or 6 amp?

My printed circuit board delaminated and blew the fuse. Place that was diagnosing it replaced fuse with a 4 amp, which blew a minute or so after i put in the new printed circuit board and turned the lights on.

Owners manual says 5, but curious as to why the electric manual says 6.

My car is a 78 as well.

I ended up going with the 6 amp. The 5 blew out in a couple days. I made it the full summer 2015 driving season with no issues.
