Sorry that I can't speak to every detail, but according to the 1978 Corvette Electrical Manual that one should be a 6 amp AGC fuse, which is the " fast-acting" type. Hope that helps.
My printed circuit board delaminated and blew the fuse. Place that was diagnosing it replaced fuse with a 4 amp, which blew a minute or so after i put in the new printed circuit board and turned the lights on.
Owners manual says 5, but curious as to why the electric manual says 6.
