Default Floor Mat Identification 77-78-79??

Hi,
Ralph Spears asked me to post these NOS mats in hope that someone might be able to identify them.
Thanks!
Regards,
Alan

I have the exact same ones in the middle picture in my '79.

Alan, none of the mats appear to be GM mats. The tan mat on the left in the top picture, and the pair of red mats, are similar to 77-82 factory mats, but OEM mats have a slight indent in the right mat, not the long slit those mats have. The tan mat on the right, and the two blue ones, are also aftermarket mats, possibly something like the old "Coco Mats".

Carpeted mats were standard in all 77 to 82's, while black rubber mats were optional, prior to 77. The factory carpet mats were made using the same cut pile carpet (or as GM called it "Plush" carpet), as was used on the floors of the car. The 77-82 mats are all exactly the same, only differing by the colors offered in a particular year. The one tan and two red mats, look like cut pile carpet, but again, those mats are configured a little differently then the factory mats.

GM only made the mats in cut pile. The Corvette aftermarket has offered them for years, in both the cut pile, and base interior 80/20 loop carpet. Aftermarket mat companies, such as Coco Mats, made mats similar to the factory ones. Coco Mats used different material for their mats, such as wool and sisal, and they also came in different patterns.

Hi gb,
Thanks for the info.
In Ralph's message to me he indicated NOS so I included that in my post.
He may have meant unused old aftermarket mats.
Regards,
Alan

I have 2 sets of red mats, one that was original to my '79 and a second original set that I bought because it is in slightly better condition than mine. They have a gentle curve, not the deep, sharp slit.

I have seen TWO styles used for 78s and 79s.
The type you have pictured, which are a rubber mat with the carpet applied and the carpet ones with the edge binding(like what most aftermarket are).
As far as I know, BOTH were GM mats.
My original 25 mile 78 Pace Car has the rubber/carpet mats as you have pictured, my former 78 silver anniversary had the bound carpet.
One of my 79s had one style, other had other style.

That top mat with the pattern and the bottom set look like maybe aftermarket because of the patterns plus the "corvette" is in the wrong place.
