Cool video; those guys were really getting after it. That Shelby seemed to be a rather ill handling beast; I think I would have been glad the race was over if I was driving that car.
The guy in second is Peter Klutt owner of a local classic car shop called Legendary Motor Cars, he also had a TV show Dream Car Garage co starring a really nice guy named Tom Hnatiw, it made for some great car guy watching, Tom passed away in recent years unfortunatley.
Anyway, a great video, a little more motor and I think 1st was not out of the question! Great to see these cars doing what they were made for.

I agree; Peter was on that cars a$$ the whole time and made two really hard attempts at passing.
If I recall correctly I think the build of that Corvette was featured on Dream Car Garage many years ago.
I cant believe how fast and hard they shift those cars. Just banging them up and down real ham fisted like. I guess they are not using the stock 4 speed tranny's? Probably all trick race stuff in there.
Back in 69 at Six Flags Over Georgia there was a cinema in the park called the Chevy show. They had little movie clip they ran and in part of it there were two C3’s running on hilly winding roads. They ran side by side and the view you saw was from behind following them race through the turns up and down the hills at speed. Great view and sound of these cars tearing the road up.
Would be nice to see that video again, but I doubt is exists anywhere.
