I'm wondering if bushings for the bottom of the shock mount can be replaced, shocks are still good and have been chromed so I'd like to save them if possible. Talking about the bushing that goes around the dog ears mounting bracket.

What year Vette are you talking about? On my 79 there are no rubber grommets where the bottom of the shock mounts to the "A" arm suspension and the top of the shock is a single shaft mounted to the frame with with two rubber grommets.

My 78 has dog ears on bottom of shock single bolt on top. Wish I could figure how to post a picture. I may have posted a picture. Can you tell me if it worked
Rick.... I've never seen one of those lower bushings wear out. Maybe they were damaged when they were removed for chroming the shocks. If you could find someone who is changing out their front shocks you could probably get a pair of bushings free. There are probably people out there upgrading their shocks and the old shocks are still good.
Those rubber bushings were installed in the shocks, initially. So, I'm sure you could remove them and install new ones (if you can find the proper sizes). You just need to locate replacements made of proper materials [durable synthetic rubber].
