Default Need Heating and A/C

Just joined the forum because I just bought my first Corvette. I bought a 1977 that the previous owner had set up just for speed. He had an LS3 in it and when he got the car it didn't have a good interior so he gutted it and added newer seats and just built a dash but only added guages. I need help finding good prices on the interior as far as the original look but more importantly I need help getting an entire heating and A/C system in it. Does anyone know where I can get a good price for the entire system?

Any chance the previous owner kept any of the stuff he/she pulled out of the car? If so, try to get your hands on it.

Do you actually know what you need? If not, purchase the assembly instruction manual (AIM) for your car and study the diagrams of the HVAC installation.

Any Corvette salvage yards in your area?

All the Corvette aftermarket providers carry interiors and interior trim.

Call the boys at wheels of time and buy a vintage air system. I put one in my 72 LS conversion and it works great.

They didn't keep anything. I'm hoping to find a parts car. If not I'm looking at around 1500 for the interior and another 1500 for the a/c and heating system.

Hey vette7714, I see you're in San Antonio too. There was someone here on the forum in our area whom sold used parts but when I sent him a PM asking about some parts I never got an answer. I too need some heating and AC in mine and will go with vintage air when I can but that's down the road a bit.

I installed a Vintage Air into my 77, even though VA only lists compatibility up to 76. See the link below for info on my install.

This is probably your most cost effective route, especially when you take into account all new vs. an assembly of used parts.

If you do decide to go used, the 77 came with 2 different AC systems - Early had a VIR (Valve in receiver) system and Late with a modern orifice system. The late system is more desirable and you can use parts from late 77 thru 82
