Default Leaf spring taken apart

I'm cleaning my spring and putting new paint and liners. My question is ,when I got it all apart there are 10 pieces. Is that the right amount of leafs?

9 should be the correct number for a standard leaf spring, 7 if you have a gymkhana sport leaf spring.

Just found the other piece on floor. So there are 10pieces total. What's up with that?

I'm doing the same thing and my spring got 10 pieces like yours 2.5 inches wide. I have a 79 and it isn't the original spring, I'm trying to find liners, if you find liners, let me know where you found them. Lot of 9 leaves liners kit available but 10 leaves kit are hard to find.

If one of the old leaf liners is in decent shape, cut it to the correct length to fit the 10th leaf........and use the 9-leaf liner kit for the other leafs.

I believe the steel rear spring was supposed to go from 9 to 10 leaves in 1975.

Tks, finally found a local spring shop that kept roll of liner. Already cut and installed.

I have a 75 with seven rear leafs that appear original. If it is the original spring can I assume this is a FE7 Gymkhana suspension. Could it be a ZO7? What do I look for to tell the difference?

A form of plastic. I would assume they acting as a lubricant or an anti squeek. You really don't want metal on meatal shifting parts.
At one time vendors offer them.

I'm not sure the amount of leaves in a 9 but 7's have 8. I believe the 8th is a spacer/straight piece that doesn't require a lining.

Regards,
Pete

If you can't find them for your years (C3) Long Island Corvett Supply offer for mid years, They'll probably work

Plastic, I put a picture of my old metal liner, as you can see it was in bad shape, the new one are made of hard plastic, bought 12 feet and cut them. Hope it will do the job.
