Paint on leaf spring

What kind of paint is used on leaf spring at factory? It seems like it was pretty thick. I'm cleaning mine and need to re paint. Thanks

The paint originally used had a very high zinc content for corrosion protection and lubricity between leaves.

The cold galvanizing spray paint at Home Depot is very high in zinc and is a pretty darn good match in color.

I gave mine a light sandblasting, 2 coats of PPG DP90 epoxy primer followed by a few coats of semi gloss. Cleaned all the plastic liners and reassembled

Thanks for the answers. Also my spring has a total of 10 pieces. Should there only be 9 in standard leaf?
