That was a popular kit in the late 90s early 2000s

Really?
No, it's not a new model corvette, it's a truck with vette tail lights added to the tail gate, a popular truck mod years back.

This is the new vette

Neither are my cup o tea...

A day or two ago a new vette was in traffic with us and my wife who is far from car stupid says to me in a questioning tone, "That is a new vette?"
I said yeah, you like it?
It looks like all the other new imports.

The new vette is likley faster, handles better, more comfy, etc etc than my 69 454 beast yet I would never swap my 69 for a new one IF I had to keep the new one...just me...

Then one looks at something like this, personalized options aside this is perfection on 4 wheels....

Thanks Bats for the compliment . That's one of the 68 corvettes that I took back to new condition . To me far more valuable than a new one.

The new Vette looks like all the other imports? Really? Show me a Honda or Toyota that even remotely resembles a new Vette.

You shouldn't be unsure about whether the new Vette is faster, is better handling, is more comfy than you're 69, it is, by far. And it is also more reliable, gets better gas mileage and pollutes less.

We all like C3s here but I don't understand why any thread that mentions new Vettes has to end up with C5, C6 or C7 bashing.

Wow. Are you guys serious? I love the C7s, especially the Z06. Just wish I could afford one. If I could it'd be a Shark Gray, 8-speed auto, with black wheels.

As for the alleged mid-engine C8? Sacrilege, which I mentioned on the discussion in the C7 Forum. Didn't stay there long though, too much negative energy and haters over there. When I said the Vette should always have a long nose and short rear deck, I was told change is coming, get over it. Whatever.

Anyway, I love our Shark, but I'd love to have a C5 or C6 Z06 too.

Most likely.....BUT...

Before you'll even consider getting into a new car, you have to like how it looks. As you walk up to it, you don't want to be thinking, "God, what an ugly car, why am I driving it??"

Seems my words are getting rearranged or mistaken, I didn't bash anything, I never said the new vette is ugly I just said I didn't like it and wouldn't want it for free if I had to keep it,

My wife said the new vette looked like an import to her, perhaps she meant higher end imports...try "4-R-E" or that it just looked new generic to her, no real spirit and soul like the c3's have to her.
To me it reminds me of many of the Fiero rebodies, not bashing just my take on it.

When I used bj1k's sweet 68 as an example of perfection did you see where I also said personal options aside, Me, I want a BB others demand a stick shift etc, my point is that basic car is stunning to me...the new vette isn't, if you dig the new one, more power to you.

"Comfort" for me is subjective, if I don't like it, it isn't going to be comfortable to me.

The new vette is Faster, better handling etc, than "MY" 69 I would hope so, but it is unfair to say that about all c3's, people do some radical stuff, I have no doubt that there are c3's that can hold it's own with the new vette....and so what?
Judging my manhood/self worth by how fast my car is wasn't even a thing for me in high school much less now.

It's okay for me to like c3's better than any vette that came after them...and for you to like ther new vette better.

What does a boat have to do with the original post... JK

I am curious does the boat run "Corvette" emblems?

I like the c5 kit on those old trucks not the zr1 kit that has been on alot of old school trucks (i.e. dodge ford chevy vans etc.) and elcos. I still want one some day single cab with ls1 intake and corvette valve covers on c6 wheels dropped

But while the build is top shelf I would personally not want to own it if I had to keep it and drive it,
