So this all started when I decided to do a quick weekend project to paint my door wells, which the previous owner in his wisdom had decided to spray paint black.
From there, I decided I didn't like the uneven gaps in the door frames, so decided to take the body off to put in new body mounts. Once that was done, I decided that while I have the body off, it would be kind of a waste to not go ahead get the frame powder coated, and once I had the frame stripped, I decided it would be really dumb to put all that old, bad suspension and steering back on to my nice clean frame.
So... here I am, with a new crate motor, new steeroids and sharkbite, and new transmission being ordered... and... a mountain of new credit card debt
With that introduction, here is what I have done so far:
Inspecting body mounts.. ugh
More nasty
Another nasty one
Here's a number 2 mount cut off
Nose / front bumper off. I had to do some ugly cutting here because the previous owner had bondo'd it to the body in places.
Front bumper support in bad shape
Almost ready for body lift
Here is a picture of how I supported the body lift crane in my attic. If I had it to do over again I wouldn't go this route. I was constantly afraid the roof was going to collapse in on me.
Body off!
*** pic. No build sheet
Frame back from powder coating! This old man was 64 years old and helped me carry the frame in the garage. Gave him a nice tip.
Hooker headers came banged up. Return to sender... dangit
Halfshaft before
Halfshaft halfway through cleaning up
Shark-Bite. Boy was this a pain (poor instructions)
Rear-end complete
Hi Bdoc, you have the " might as well fix it now" syndrome. That is how I started out a year ago. I thought new trailing arms, brakes and away I go. But got caught up in the same syndrome. Deep pockets and forum help will cure our problem. Carry on!

It's amazin how these things snowball. When I was trying to decide weather or not to do a frame off, a friend warned me it gets really expensive to pull the body because as soon as you do......
I'm the end it was worth it. Yours looks like it will be quite a nice vette when you are done.
Keep us posted.
Thats hilarious Lol.
Next you will be changing the oil and you will just buy a new motor haha.
Everything looks great-nice work! Dont worry about the cc's-have fun w it!!!
