Default corvette starting up

Hello ! I have not started my vette for about 4 months. 1975 stingray.
I put key in and nothing. However, the radio works, key in ignition sets of buzzer, cigarette lighter works. I could not put the gear into reverse. Hence, I can't get my key out of the ignition. I don't know if it is a dead battery or starter issues. The last time I took it out , it ran like a charm, no issues.
I am here to ask what you think I should do. I am a femaie that is owner of this beauty, and I have no one else to ask. I am new in the area. I just dont' want to wreck this vehicle, by trying to do something I know nothing about.
I would appreciate any direction, more than you can imagine.
Gratefully,
Gail

Mod note: Moved this out of "Ask Tadge" section over to "C3 General" as I expect it'll be more quickly answered here.

You battery is weak ..or near death if it's old.

Get a Battery Tender JR. ...a neat little wall charger device around 30.00

This will trickle charge the battery back to life , if the battery can be saved. They are simple to use .

It might take 16-24 hours to revive the battery . It's all automatic , no buttons , or switches .....clip the leads on the battery and plug it in the wall. I can't live with out mine

It's a good device to maintain your battery when your not driving for a week or more.

Get them on Amazon or some auto parts stores.

It would not be unusual for the battery to be low after several months without running the car - but. The car will only crank in PARK or NEUTRAL.
Because you can't remove your key, or mover the gear lever, you may have bigger problems.

You didn't say if it was manual or automatic. If manual you have to put the clutch in to start. That also takes the pressure off of the shifter and makes it easier to get it in or out of reverse.

The manual shifter has a T handle and you have to lift up on the T to get into reverse so you can get the key out. At least that is the way it is on my 69. Automatic has a button on top of the shifter as I remember to do the same thing. And the starter will be locked out unless it is in Park or Neutral.

It sounds like something is in a bind also. You might have to let someone "rock" the car back and forth a few inches while you turn the steering wheel a little right and left to get the key out and also to get the car to shift....then you can try to start if after charging the battery fully.
