Wires.

Hey all, want to buy a set of original steel braided ignition wires for my LS5 Want to get a top quality set. Who sells the good ones, and who to stay away from. Thanx .

Thanx for the reply. Are these wires from Zip have a metal wire core or that weird black fiberglass carbon thready stuff? I know the cheaper ignition wires don't have a actual metal core in them. So wont last as long and perform as good.

That I dont know but I doubt they are solid core. They say they are made exactly to OEM specs and I think by then GM had moved away from solid core wires due to RFI.

I was told the factory braided wires worked fairly well as a rev limiter...by a guy who used them on his L88-powered '55 Chevy back in the late '60s. Your LS5 or my L36 don't have to worry about that...but they sure do look nice. BTW, you can spend a few extra bucks and have the correct date (Q-Yr) stamped on the wires.
