Do you think you would like it...go for it it's your car afterall...

I like suspension detailed I have seen it done in red, silver colors to look stainless or aluminum, and even carbon fiber look, it's really up to the builder beauty is in the eye,

I have that vettebrakes transverse stuff on my car at the moment it's all black, I plan to paint a few things to look like aluminum/stainless,
A-arms, sway bars, 1/2 shafts etc,

Your idea of chevy orange would at first make me think the car was some "special" factor idea like copo or something.

I like to do all my suspension parts and the frame in a satin black. I think it looks best to me. The shocks though, I left yellow.

I also like all my suspension parts semi flat black (krylon). I like new stainless bolts, nuts and washers not painted with the rest of the suspension. I also like the shocks to be unpainted.

You can do a couple of things with aluminum. First, you can have it bead blasted. It will look new. Then you can leave it bare aluminum...or you could clear coat it with satin clear. No more dull aluminum.

If you don't want to spend the money on bead blasting, you could wire brush the alum manifold, but it will leave brush marks in the surface. Or, you could just clean it well, then paint it with VHT [flat] aluminum paint. VHT paint is the closest appearance to fresh aluminum metal that I have found.

Get some wheel cleaner for uncoated aluminum wheels. It will make it look brand new.
