Default Rocker Panels

I wanted to reach out to fellow members to see if anyone manufactures a correct rocker panel for 70 Coupe. I have heard a lot of horror stories and would like to avoid a bad purchase.

Check with Wilcox, think he was getting some new ones in. The ones I got in Nov from Corvette America were not even close to fitting and returned them.

Hi DAB,
There are really 2 different issues here:
First, the currently available panels while not great can be made to look pretty nice if carefully installed. But they do take some effort.
Second, the current panels don't judge very well on 70-72 cars (if that matters to you) because of some small but easily noticeable differences.
Even the originals are quite fragile and need to be handled and installed carefully.
Regards,
Alan

This is the currently available repro panel.
I spent a whole day fitting them including repainting the black detail.

Unless you can find some NOS ones, I think you're going to have a long wait.

The only company making rocker panels for 70-77 Corvettes, is Corvette America. Their rockers have been back ordered for close to 2 years now, while they supposedly improve the stampings. Their dealer website currently says, "We do not have an expected arrival date on this item". The last time I inquired about them, they said they had no idea when they will have them again, and their purchasing department has told their sales people, not to even inquire about they're availability.

I'll post an update on these tomorrow... We were given a date recently and Tommy talked to them so I'd have to talk with him tomorrow. From what I understand the wait gap is narrowing quickly.

Edit: Word is they new product will be in stock in March.

I had better remove my original panels and place them in a safe storage, and install some new crappy ones.
