going to load 70 vette onto flatbed trailer.....when winching car onto the trailer, where is the best place to attach strap to front end so as not to damage car, ramps are only 4' long and trailer has 2-3' slant at back, car does not run...thanks.

I secure my Vettes using the space between the lower " A " arms and frame. When I winch a Vette onto a trailer I use a synthetic choker like this: http://www.mcmaster.com/#slings/=vo59vj
Scroll down to polyester round slings. I have the green eyeless one thats about $25. I have used these on show cars with powder coated frames without damaging the finish
I always tie a vehicle down on my trailer with over tire straps.... but then my trailer is setup for them.. I have a few different size straps.
