68 hard top chrome tips

68 hard top chrome tips
I had always thought that the 68s hard tops had no chrome tips but after searching on the forum found that early ones didnt and late ones did. Anyone know approximately when they started to add them?

You beat me to it. I was researching the same thing. I found a few photos of the top with them.

I don't think any 68 HTs had the tips My HT is original to my car (May 29 68 build) and it does not have the tips. I've seen very late production cars (Aug 68) without them as well.

Thanks for the help guys. The car 410racing and I are asking about is a May 68 build car. The hard top had no headliner installed and there was a date written on the underside with what looks to be a felt tip marker that jives with the production date, the LOF date code jives with the production date and it has the 68 correct mountings so I guess well have to assume the tips were added. Thanks again.
