Both have the marks and they are almost identical which lends me to thing it might have been there from the manufacturer. That said, with the storied past of this car it's possible Bubba Bros. LLC. may have changed something at some time and "adjusted" them.
Anyway, before I smooth them out I was just wondering if anyone else had marks like those???
On the same topic, this fine bit of quality work was definitely from the Friday night shift
Hi M,
Because of your description I now have this picture in my mind of Bubba doing this with his teeth…. it really isn't a pretty sight!

I have a 72 and mine do not have the marks and look to be manufactured with good quality.
Thanks for the input.
The other ends on both have the holes nicely centered, just this one end was obviously mis-loaded in the punch but made it onto the car anyway.
Can't imagine what caused those marks, not like there is anything near them that would ever hit or need to be hit. Ah well
I've smoothed out the marks now and the parts are ready for powder coating (just need to get a few other pieces ready, hate to heat the oven for two little brackets)
