Default Differential Oil

Could someone please tell me (or where I find the info) the amount of oil it takes to fill the differential on my 79? I know it is full when the oil runs out the fill hole, but it would be nice to know how much to buy. I have the additive to put in as well.
Cheers, Colin

Default my 79 diff fluid flush

last summer i took a long drive to warm up the diff fluid, then sucked it out. when i was pouring in the additive, i noticed a silver sheen from the very bottom of the little bottle. i then figured that silvery stuff was the actual additive, and the majority of the fluid was just a convenient way for "delivery".

i then read the bottle and found the "shake before using" directive (oops, shoulda read the directions). i added some fluid to the bottle, shook it up and then topped off the diff. funny how this is rarely mentioned when folks talk about the diff additive, but thought i would.

Make sure you put the additive in first, then fill to top with diff oil.
