I need to get the carb rebuilt in my C3 and can not find a repair shop in my area that will do it. Does anyone know of a shop in San Antonio TX that is capable of doing this job?? I asked the dealer and they wanted 4 hours of labor plus parts, I can almost buy a new one for that.
If its a qaudrajet, contact him. I'm pretty sure he will rebuild it if you pull it and send it to him. If its a holley, edelbrock etc, they really are not hard at all. The kits will run around 50 bucks. If removing the carb is beyond your scope of work, have a shop do it.
Try this link for Lars. He rebuilt my Qjet and it runs beautiful. I sent It out to him in Colorodo and got it back in about 2 weeks. Worth every bit of the $200 he charged. https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...g-the-bad.html
I was looking for a local shop but if I can not find one I will send it to him. All it really needs is to have the two plugs epoxied to stop the bowl from draining fuel when it sits for a while, that makes it hard to start.

It's not likely that leaking bowl plugs are the cause of your problem. You can e-mail me for my paper on the issue.

No, you can't. You cannot buy a new Q-Jet. If there are any new Q-Jets out there, they are likely to be priced well over $1K. If you want to retain the Q-Jet, you have to have it rebuilt by a competent builder.
