How Do I Disconnect Engine Side Harnesses?

How Do I Disconnect Engine Side Harnesses?

Can someone please tell me how to release the engine side harnesses from the firewall at the fuse box on an '81. Maybe they are similar for the earlier years? I don't know. My connections have undercoat sprayed over them. I don't want to break anything trying to get them loose. They have to just plug in right?

There should be a bolt in the center of the plug and it hold it all together. There are 2 halves but the whole plug will come out then you can separate them.

Obviously this bolt head is covered in gunk. I will take a look at it this morning.

Once you get it separated from the firewall , you can just slide the engine harness out of the connector.
