Default C3 Headlight door interchange.

Have a '78 sans headlights. Got a good deal on a set of headlights, housings, doors, brackets etc. One housing is cracked, possibly repairable but looking into just buying a driver side headlight door and nothing else.

Do I need to use only the 75-82 doors such as the ones I purchased? Or will the doors from an earlier Vette mount to my 75-82 brackets? To me it looks as if the brackets are different but the doors are the same.

Thanks for any input. I'm not worried about originality.

Hi d,
I believe there were 3 versions of the headlight door during the 1968 model year. The size changed by about 1/4" each time with the final version continuing thru 1982.
I'm speaking of just the door, not the frame since that did change.
Regards,
Alan

69-82 doors will work. 68-74 supports will mount in the later cars if spacers are used on the front feet. 75-82 supports will fit without spacers.
