did you do a compression test after reinstalling the heads?
what carburetor did you buy from Summit?
what is your initial timing set for? what is your total mechanical advance set for?
did you check for a vacuum leak around intake manifold to head and carburetor to head?
what camshaft do you have?

Hi Joe
I am far from being an expert, but from all the work you have done and nothing has helped. I was wondering if the builder got the cam timing way off? Hope someone can help you with the problem.

Valves too tight? Try backing off on the rocker nuts and see if that helps.

Check the valve timing with a degree wheel. The cam could be installed off by a tooth or two.

4* is not nearly enough timing. Set it to 14* to 18* of initial. See what happens then.

I bought a jet carb quadrajet 35001 new
There are no new Q-jets. As stated by Lars, if you bought a commercially rebuilt Q-jet then it is likely junk in it's present condition. It will need to be built by someone like Lars or you need a different carb.
