A friend and I are working on a 1972 original big block. It needs a new front clip. It is NOT an A/C car. He located a new clip from VIP and they told him there was not difference in clip regardless of a/c or not. I have had someone else tell me there is a difference in the inner fender.
Please help me confirm so I know what to buy to be correct.

Also looking for a correct Quadra Jet - 7042216
I see no indications in any of the after market catalogs showing a different inner fender for the 72 model year with AC . I believe they are all the same.

Hi v,
On an a/c car the right side apron and skirt was modified at it's front to allow the receiver and dehydrator tubes to pass through the wheel well side of the apron instead of staying in the engine compartment and requiring that there being an opening in the core support.
Holes were cut in the fiberglass and a shield was bonded to the apron on it's wheel well side to cover the tubes.
The clip started out being the same whether the car was going to be an a/c car or not.
So has the source you're buying the clip from looked at that area to see if the clip came from an a/c car or not?
Regards,
Alan
