I am replacing the weatherstrip on the "B" pillar or rear edge door glass weatherstrip and even though they are riveted in place there is gobs of the yellow adhesive behind it. I have tried a few different chemicals to remove it but it's not budging. I'd like to clean it off down to the paint before I install the new ones. Any suggestions??

I use 08984 too.
It still takes some effort to get the adhesive completely off.
In areas where there's no paint I use lacquer thinner.

Some acetone on a rag worked for me. Still takes some effort to get it all off though.
