Whats wrong with people today?
P.S. Is it really my fault for not locking the car?

Good thing you got there when you did.

Not your fault at all. I was at a car show a few years ago, and after I parked my car, I walked around to look at all the other cars. When I got back to my car about an hour later, I found a man taking pics of his 3 kids sitting in my car. If the kids were not there, I would have beat him to a pulp. This man simply could not understand why I was so angry about the situation, and acted as if I was the one at fault and was overreacting.

Number 1 rule: You do not ever, EVER, touch another person's car without permission.

The "kid" was in the wrong. Get an alarm and lock your car. Don't leave it unattended in a parking lot somewhere if you expect to keep it very long.
Just her stare is enough.

Some of the worst offenders are guys showing off to their girl/boy friends.
I had one young ******** try to remove my aircleaner "for a look at the carb"......
he was "escorted" from the event by one VERY large club appointed security guard.
If people ask....I don't mind them having a "sit" (I even let their Mom's jump in too
) but do get annoyed at parents that just let the kids run amok.
At a pre Christmas show, I decided that I'd give kids a Matchbox car if they asked questions
about my car and were behaving themselves
(I asked Mom & Dad).
Needless to say, by the end of the day I'd made lots of friends and possible future Vette owners.
Gotta get her ready for a Show tomorrow
Have a GREAT weekend and
Cheers,

I locked a juvenile up for auto theft.
I went up to the facility for his ajudication hearing.
We were talking and I said to him what made you think you can just take someones else's car?
His response was if the owner wanted more than me he should have locked it up.
That's it no follow up no other response.
This is the doctrine the yuts of today believe.
It's a help yourself to whatever whenever world.
No respect is taught in homes today, teachers, police and pastors are
hamstrung by friviolous civil suits and a general lack of support from their comunitie and administrators.
Many teachers and police officers close to retirement just want to finish the race today without forfeiting their pension because of some thing viewed as politically incorrect.
And none of us on the job want to be the next Furgeuson.
Jeus come quickly.

Yes you probably should have locked your door, but the fact it was unlocked does not give a person rights to open and go inside. But a locked door may prevent some of this from happening.
And considering his excuse, I thought of this. If your house door was unlocked, can he also come in and look around because he thought it was for sale. His excuse doesnt work here does it.
