Default Whats wrong with people today?

So it was a nice day here today. High 40's with a peek of sunshine here and there. I decided to drive the corvette back to work after lunch. Had to park out in front of the store, the lot was full. Mid afternoon I took a delivery because we were busy. When I drive back up to the store I notice the passenger door is open and someone is in my vette. I was so shocked I almost hit another truck in the turn lane. I pulled up jumped out and told this kid to get the F*&k out of my car. He starts in with this story that he thought it was for sale and told me I should lock my car. I went absolutely ballistic, and offered to rearrange his anatomy. What the hell is wrong with people today? I think I need a beer, and I don't drink. Mike

P.S. Is it really my fault for not locking the car?

I would have called the cops on the scumbag. He thought it was for sale, yeah, right. Even if it was, he had no business opening the door on your car, you don't ever touch somebody else's car. Ever.

Good thing you got there when you did.

Not your fault, the onus is on him not to enter your car without permission but you should have locked your car as you can't depend on people to do the right thing. I very rarely leave my car unlocked, even when I'm driving a piece of crap.

My knee jerk reaction would have been severe hostility..I'd like to think I would refrain from landing myself in jail though.
The kid was in the wrong, no two ways about it.

Check with your local LEOs, but I think that`s still considered "breaking & entering", no matter if it was locked or not.

Not your fault at all. I was at a car show a few years ago, and after I parked my car, I walked around to look at all the other cars. When I got back to my car about an hour later, I found a man taking pics of his 3 kids sitting in my car. If the kids were not there, I would have beat him to a pulp. This man simply could not understand why I was so angry about the situation, and acted as if I was the one at fault and was overreacting.

Number 1 rule: You do not ever, EVER, touch another person's car without permission.

What's wrong with people today? Well quite frankly a bunch. They aren't considerate of other people's property. They don't know the first thing about respect. Their manners are out the window. They weren't raised with any discipline. They are only about themselves. And on and on.

The "kid" was in the wrong. Get an alarm and lock your car. Don't leave it unattended in a parking lot somewhere if you expect to keep it very long.

its not your fault. These kids today are messed up. I work for my company for 30 years and the new kids who they hire have no respect for other people and other young people as well. They do need a beating and years ago if we did that we would be beaten. Today they know nothing with happen and they do what they want. Sorry to rant

About 15 years ago I had a 1930 Ford street rod pickup that I had just finished and took it to a car cruise . We were walking around looking at some other cars and when I came back I saw a little kid using the front fender for a sliding board leaving fine scratches in the paint. I didn't even know where his parents were . I chased him off and had to live with the scratches. After that I bought those magnetic "LOOK BUT DON'T TOUCH " signs and put them on the doors but they still would stand on the running boards and put their greasy fingers on the top of the doors. Sometimes with me sitting right there and their parents with them. Some parents would grab them right away but others would give you dirty looks for yelling at their kids. Your right, what's wrong with some people ?

Some of those reasons is why I beat my sons a**. Guess what he is respectful. But you better not disrespect him. He is a big ole boy.

I would have called the cops and told them that someone is breaking into my car. Then when they arrive just explain that the guy hurt himself getting out of it.

My Pitbull....Sorry, I mean the Wife guards our Vette at Car shows.
Just her stare is enough.
Some of the worst offenders are guys showing off to their girl/boy friends.
I had one young ******** try to remove my aircleaner "for a look at the carb"......
he was "escorted" from the event by one VERY large club appointed security guard.

If people ask....I don't mind them having a "sit" (I even let their Mom's jump in too )
but do get annoyed at parents that just let the kids run amok.

At a pre Christmas show, I decided that I'd give kids a Matchbox car if they asked questions
about my car and were behaving themselves
(I asked Mom & Dad).
Needless to say, by the end of the day I'd made lots of friends and possible future Vette owners.

Gotta get her ready for a Show tomorrow
Have a GREAT weekend and
Cheers,
Gav.

That kid is lucky he is not wearing dentures today...he was probably going through your car to take something. True car lovers understand those unwritten rules of respect for another mans car. I put it in the same category as a man's wife- not ok to just come up and start touching and feeling!!

This should answer your question.
I locked a juvenile up for auto theft.
I went up to the facility for his ajudication hearing.
We were talking and I said to him what made you think you can just take someones else's car?
His response was if the owner wanted more than me he should have locked it up.
That's it no follow up no other response.
This is the doctrine the yuts of today believe.
It's a help yourself to whatever whenever world.
No respect is taught in homes today, teachers, police and pastors are
hamstrung by friviolous civil suits and a general lack of support from their comunitie and administrators.
Many teachers and police officers close to retirement just want to finish the race today without forfeiting their pension because of some thing viewed as politically incorrect.
And none of us on the job want to be the next Furgeuson.
Jeus come quickly.

I hadn't thought about it but now that you mention it that was almost certainly the case.

All of the above comments are the result of the communist indoctrination in the public screwals.....community property for everything, not private property.....it's what they are taught.....

Many of them have a general disrespect for other peoples property.
Yes you probably should have locked your door, but the fact it was unlocked does not give a person rights to open and go inside. But a locked door may prevent some of this from happening.

And considering his excuse, I thought of this. If your house door was unlocked, can he also come in and look around because he thought it was for sale. His excuse doesnt work here does it.
