C3 rear windshield
I just bought a red c3, it is super clean and looks awesome. Anyway i noticed that some c3s have different rear windshield, longer than the normal ones and they look great.
This is my car
And this is what i meant by long windshield
Can i do it to my car? If yes, are the parts ready or they have to be customized.
Thank you
Thank
68-77 coupes have your rear window. The 68-72 are removable.
78-82 have the other style, the 82 Collector Edition lifts up and opens.
Anything can be done, but I would say if you like that style glass, buy a 78 and up.

If you want to get more radical than stock and talk custom I offer a few pictures starting with the Maco style rear designed and invented by John Silva and made famous by Motion
as you see people modded an already custom part to further personalize their rides.
Then we have some slope backs or Custom GT, Phase rears again while Ecklers invented the kit Motion made it famous on their cars but many people made their own some using Vega and other rear glass.
Then a 63 split window on a c3, this was a kit but never too many sold.
Then one of my favorites the Ecklers hatch vette, it ran a real glass rear window from a Monza and was a very nice kit.
As far as I know none of these kits are sold new any longer, I am a big custom fan and crawl the net daily and see cars built with these parts pop up for sale as do the parts alone in condition ranging from beaten and cut from a car going back to stock to nice untouched NOS but while some sellers like to tack bloated price tags on old custom parts using buzz words like "Motion" and or "rare" in most cases a savvy hunter can find parts like these for anywhere from free to a few 100.00
For example I bought both my L-88 Flares and ZL-1 Flares NOS for 75.00 a pair, old but nice L-88 hood 125.00......etc.
I can tell you that it is VERY INVOLVED. It is NOT a simple project. Can it be done...YES.
Fuel tank will need to be replaced. that is just for starters....then it will involve interior items due to the length of the rear glass.
